To trust God is believing that he like you, He can help you, He is willing to help, and he will. Christian are supposed to be believers but most times behaves like unbelievers, we choose to trust material things, people, banks more than we trust God's words and God.
In John 15:5 ,Jesus says except from him, there is nothing we can do, we need to lean on him and trust him for help with everything we have.
This days a lot of people go to church , learn on trusting God but still go home to do things on their own without putting God first but will still complain they have been neglected by God even when they have tried and did the needful.
For things to work, God want us to have confidence and trust in him. You have to trust God first before trusting yourself.
Few years ago I developed the habit of trusting myself alone, this habit came on me when have trusted alot of people and have gotten hurt several times which make me believe if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself, people can only hurt you if you don't if you don't do things yourself, this ugly mindset debared me from trusting God until I realize it's a bad habit that I have to put a halt to.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not only on your own understanding; in all your path acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your ways .
When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and trust God, the Spirit of God comes to reside inside you. This is one of the greatest blessings of salvation: You don’t have to pass through someone else before you talk to God. He dwells in your heart and you can learn to hear His voice. The best way to hear his voice is to listen and live by his words (Bible) and as we devote our time reading and meditating on the scripture we develop a strong spirit which give a great energy and ability to trust him more and then we will be able to hear him speak as he will help us make right decisions base on what and where he is leading us to and not just what we feel or think.
A friend of mine shared a testimony about how trusting God gave his life a radical transformation and made his life worth living after facing so much turmoil and experience a lot of guilt feelings but everything change and turn out to be good again when he moved closer to God and develop the habit of trusting God.
Are you ready to trust God so that he can redirect your paths? It's very simple and peaceful, all you need to do is to come to God like a little child saying "God, I don't want to do things on my own, I want to put all my trust in you, if I don't know what else to do, I will still trust you even when I don't understand why things happen, I will still trust you, I will always play my role and do my best with your help and when am done, I will still trust you to do the rest".
