JUNSEI'S NOTES
The Black (also named Black Limited or Black Version) trim level was given to several models in Toyota's lineup for the Japanese market. Although several names were used, they were all limited-run, top-of-the-line models, featuring a blacked-out exterior with occasional golden accents.
Production numbers were almost always below a thousand units, usually just a few hundred. One of the earliest Toyota models to receive the treatment was the 1977 Toyota Sprinter Trueno. Other models include, but are not limited to the Toyota Cresta, MR2, Sprinter Trueno and the Supra.
Today, a very limited amount of Black series Toyotas remain, and are sought-after models for both enthusiasts and collectors alike.
