JUNSEI'S NOTES
The art-style prominently used In this pamphlet (and complementary sales/accessory brochures) is based on the Dutch artistic movement called "De Stijl". In particular, the painting called "Compositie met groot rood vlak, geel, zwart, grijs en blauw" (translation: Composition with a big red plane, yellow, black, gray and blue.) In the advertisement, the big red plane is represented by the red SUZUKI ALTO.
The woman pictured in this advertisement is former Japanese pop singer, model, and actress Asami Kobayashi, who was active during the 70s and 80s. Kobayashi can also be found in various other SUZUKI ALTO-related brochures and TV commercials (mainly special limited-production runs, such as the JUNA, REGINA, and FEMINA)
The commercial-oriented ALTO "Van" and family-oriented FRONTE "Sedan" (Although both really are hatchbacks in technical terms) share the same platform with some differences. The ALTO was at first only offered as a 3-door, while the FRONTE was offered as a 5-door Hatchback.
