On this occasion, I would like to share some images featuring the Kelok Inang-Inang area in Aceh, specifically in Bener Meriah. This area was one of my favorite weekend destinations, due to its cool atmosphere and beautiful natural scenery.
However, all of that has now disappeared, leaving traces of a natural disaster.
So, please continue to follow my blog to see some images of the lost beauty of this place, through the images I will share later, along with short articles from me.
A few days ago, I had the chance to travel with friends to Bener Meriah.
While we were traveling along the Bireuen-Takengon road, specifically at Kelok Inang-Inang in Bener Meriah Regency, we stopped at a beautiful corner, a river flanked by hills covered with damar trees and cool air. I usually like to spend a long weekend in this area. Its strategic location, on the side of the Gayo Highway, is about an hour's drive from Bireuen city. This location also sells a variety of beautiful flowers, and there are various stalls for tourists to rest, as well as stalls selling various foods and drinks.
The area was once the Kelok Inang-Inang area, but now everything has disappeared. The area was hit by natural disasters in recent months, causing damage, and now all that remains is hope.
A few months ago, a natural disaster struck this area, causing extensive damage. The Kelok Inang-Inang Bridge, which used to be a natural tourist attraction with campsites along the river, has now changed. The Inang-Inang Bridge was damaged by the disaster, and now the government has built emergency bridges, with the Indonesian flag flying in various corners.
Here are some snapshots I took of the area.
Landslides happen everywhere, even though previously when we were in this area we could see the natural beauty that is located in this area and this area is included in the tropical rain forest area, and now what we see is yellow soil caused by landslides as seen in some of the pictures I shared above
However, several stalls selling snacks in this area are still there even though natural disasters have destroyed most of the stalls and until now there are still some of these stalls remaining and some of them are starting to be rebuilt, even though this place is not as beautiful as before, the natural beauty and cool atmosphere which are the characteristics of the tropical rainforest area are still felt.
The original road was damaged and we can see beside the road that the road collapsed into the river, even though the road was originally built on a bridge in the Kelok Inang-Inang area, but the bridge has been damaged and there is only about 5 meters of road left.
And when we were at the top, what we used to see was the beauty of a valley in a tropical rainforest, but now the view is the remains of a landslide.
