Today I went for my longest ride yet (at least in the past 6+ months of getting back into cycling, it might have been surpassed when I used to cycle).
I have a friend who works in a local-ish cake shop and wanted to surprise them by turning up (it's a little out of the way, and I don't drive). I realised I can get a train which took me about 1/2 the way there, and then I rode the other half, making it a lot more doable!
100% worth it for the reaction I got when I turned up - they've been trying to explain things about this place forever and now I finally understand it all after seeing the place. It was lovely and the slice of cake (or rather a very generous cookie in my case) was just what I needed to keep me going for the ride back!
Might be a bit crazy as I'm still planning on doing a 10+ mile walk tomorrow, so I might be regretting this then! But overall it was great fun and totally worth it.
