Manticao river is located at the heart or at the middle of Manticao, Misamis Oriental. A few Kilometers away traveling from Barangay Poblacion going to The place. It is also near at the road trails, surrounded with tall cliffs and big kinds of Native trees. From the market, it takes few hours of traveling depends on how crowded the road is. From the road rocky trail, it needs to do hiking for a few hours before reaching this areas.
This wide plain portion here was once a dry land with lots of agricultural plants can be seen and found. For many years has pass, the soil keeps eroding and flashing away due to big floods until it completely turned into a river. The situations has been greatly change and it completely filled with lots of stones and sands brought by the flood. Despite with that, still it is a perfect place to visit because of the stone formations, colors and sizes. Camping trips near at the river or even picnics here are very fit as long as there is a good Weather.
Fishing is also a great spots here, in fact lots of shrimps, fish and crabs can be catched here at the place. The strong water current keeps changing its locations. A curvy water channels straight down to the sea and a splashing of water near at the cliff can also be heard. There are lots of children always went here just to splashed and take a bathe enjoying on this very crystal clear fresh water.
If we talked about swimming spots, there are lots of deep fresh water can be found here. Some of this are surrounded with big trees and tall cliffs. This fresh crystal clear water is very tempting for those who visited here. Washing areas just like washing the clothes is also perfect here because of the deep water. Lots of fish, crabs and shrimps can also be seen here and some big and old native trees grows. Wild animals like birds are flying around and at the river side contains tons of fine sands and peebles.
Peebles, chokers and even fine sands are all over the place and deposited by big floods. The colors, sizes and shapes of the stones gives a great views of the river and most of the stone are compost with hard materials like Bantilis.
Some of the rocks here are already covered with algae plants, and it is very normal specially during heat season. Some of the rocks are submerged at the fresh water and some of it are burried at the sand. Those stone are well piled by those people who wants to wash their clothes.
Big stones and boulders are also washes away of the great flood. It indicates on how long has been washed away because of the line marks at the surfice of the big silica stones. Visiting and exploring some parts of the river makes happy and proud, until next post have a nice day everyone.
