This morning felt like opening an old book, one where the pages smell like childhood and the wind carries memories. We traveled back to the place where I was born and raised, the same mountain air that once greeted my own school days. And bedside me was my daughter, Morning Belle, looking around with bright eyes, as if the mountains whispered secrets only she could hear.
She was super excited! Because she wanted to sit in at her cousin Bless school. Ate bless is her hero these days. And since Morning Belle truly lives up to her name, she woke up early way earlier than I expected. Even with the cold biting at our skin, super cold feeling, she still woke up, moving and smiling.
I watched he brush her teeth with cold mountain water, her little face scrunching from the icy shock. And right there, I felt my heart warm in strange way. Truly, when a child wants to learn, even the coldest morning can't stop them. I realized how powerful curiosity is and how important it is to teach them early with discipline, eagerness and readiness for life.
When she and her cousin Bless stood side by side, same age, same energy, same clothes (they insisted), I couldn't help but laugh. They look like tiny twins escaped from a cartoon with matchy matchy and bursting with giggles. Moments like that remind me how precious childhood is and how fast it all rushes by.
Before going to school, the two little adventurers marched to their Grand parents! And of course, as a tradition here they ask snacks. Their Grandmother's eyes sparkled, smile and realized how these small routines build the kind of joy that Grandparents treasure deeply. It's heartwarming how something as simple as coins for snacks can become a love language between generations.
Then came the part that tugged at me. They walk going outside of their Grandparents house and climbed onto their Uncle's motorcycle. They ride and all bunded up for excited. The road to school takes about half an hour, half an hour of cold wind, bumpy paths, and laughter fading inyo the morning air. As I watched them go, my chest felt full. Happy, nervous and proud. Everything all at once.
Motherhood really hits us in unexpected ways. Sometimes through struggles, but often through mornings like this, when your child steps into the world with courage, curiosity and a bright smile. I realized today that these simple sacrifice, waking up early, braving the cold, guiding them gently are the stories we will look back on with teary smiles.
And seeing my daughter so happy to sit in at her Ate Bless's school made me whisper to myself, "Ah, so this is the beauty of being a mom."
