The sun came out slightly late in the afternoon, so I popped up to my local wood to see if the bluebells had come out.
Before I went on holiday, there were only the odd few, but as I parked up and got out of my car, the aroma hit me. I could see that the wood was full of flowers.
The scent reminded me of perfume your grandma would wear in the 1970s. That’s a compliment, though. I see the dark side of the Force was in attendance.
It was also golden hour that photographers always talk about. The light was soft and warm, giving everything a gentle golden glow. The sun was streaming through the trees, and the bluebells looked even more pretty in the evening sun. It made the whole place feel very calm.
There were also a few yellow celandines and daisies out, along with the odd dandelion. I like this time of year when all the flowers appear. I don't mind the weeds either.
I did a circular walk around the wood before returning to my car.
