I saw a post recently on Facebook that says, “He who craves war has never witnessed one.”
Even if the action is taking place in your neighborhood and not at your doorstep, the tension it creates is something that will make you know that life is important.
I am among those who avoid talking about Wars, the reason is that I don't see anything worthy to talk about in wars.
Is it the sight of people losing their precious lives, or the sight of seeing what people spent their lives building crumble within a moment?
I don't know much about history and human civilization, but anytime the issue of war arises, people say it paves the way for growth.
In my little mind, I wonder how bloodshed and destruction bring progress. Yes, things would change, people would start afresh, and things might take shape, but how about the lives lost? Is that also a gain?
I love the military, I always have had the passion to defend my country, to protect lives and property. But recently, I was thinking, wouldn't this demand for me to end another person's life?
And the short answer is “yes, it will.” As much as I want to defend my country, taking life is something I find difficult to come to terms with.
Life is precious, I don't know how it is made, I can't make one, why should I take one, if not that it happens accidentally?
This is what scares me about wars: lives must be destroyed whether we like it or not. People will die, destinies will be shattered, children will be made orphans, wives will be made widows, and husbands will be made widowers.
We all have different opinions about wars, and sadly, mine is completely negative. So, if today the world is at war and I am to choose whether to protect my family or to fight alongside my country, I won't think twice before picking my family.
We live in a funny world, you can join the military to fight and lose your life, and your country won't even remember your service and sacrifice.
The annoying part is that, in some countries like mine, your family might even be neglected and treated with no honor.
I am not discouraging anyone from serving in the military for their country, but wisdom should apply.
During war, a death sentence is on everyone, being alive when all is done is not assured, yet even if I die, I would rather do it protecting my loved ones.
This decision looks selfish, but this time, I choose my family. We will fight for survival together.

I don't know any military survival tactics during war, but we will face the heat together. When it's time to run, we will run; if it's time to fight, we will fight; and if it's time to hide, we will hide. If we survive, fine; if we don't, fine.
