
They had both gone for a medical check-up, and it was confirmed that there was nothing wrong with them. Some medications were even prescribed to increase their fertility, but nothing worked. In Nigeria, we often have a strong belief in spiritual things, and as such, most people started saying all sorts of things like they might have oftened their ancestor or the husband or wife had sacrificed their sperm or womb respectively for a ritual.
The talks started becoming unbearable, and it was slowly chipping away at the love and trust they had for each other. There were some instances where the mother-in-law would come around to give the wife some concoction to drink that would help her become pregnant, as this was a tradition from her side. At times, the husband would be asked to do some sacrifice, so he could become a father.
The couple was at their breaking point as they were both tired of everything and decided to stop. They both had the same conclusion that all these activities they were asked to do were a funny tradition because some people had literally forced their own tradition on the couple with hopes that if they strong belived they would become parents.
The couple agrees that they would keep trying naturally and hope for the best. Eventually, Mrs Yinka got pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy. When the young boy was old enough, they would often tease him about all the funny traditions they had to do just to have their own child. The son grew up to be a responsible person, and he took very good care of his parents.
