On an afternoon on a weekend, his family decided to go for an outing to the beach. Daniel was very excited and happy and could not stop thinking about all the fun he would have that day. On D day, his family went for an outing and had a lot of fun. However, on their way back home, they had an accident. He lost both his parents that day as they were in the front seat when the accident occurred.
Daniel was hospitalized for about a week, while his siblings were discharged before him. He had a side effect from the accident, and it was that he had lost his memory for that day.
Everyone tried to help him during his recovery period, but he was still unable to recover his memories. As time goes on, Daniel has to live on without the memories of that day. While all these were going on, it was obvious that he had not let go of his grief, as he was still holding on to one.
One evening while going for a walk, he had a deja vu seeing other families having a picnic in a garden, and this took him back a moment in time. Because of his photographic memory, he was able to relive his last moment with his parents over and over again.
Although he was not completely happy, he was able to get the closure he needed. Life comes and goes, but only those alive can enjoy life. That was the beginning of his healing process.
