On a faithful afternoon, David had an encounter with a helpless woman, but he refused to help as he was in a hurry to get home. And even during this hurriedness, he had pushed the helpless women and she got injured in the process. He got home safely, feeling as if nothing had changed, and went about his usual routines.
Later that night, he had a terrible nightmare and was very scared and by the time he woke up, he had found himself inside Xavier's body unknowingly (a body swap had occurred). While not very aware of his environment, he had seen Xavier’s mom and had called her a maid, asking her for something. Xavier’s mom immediately shouted, “Young man, I am not your maid! Get up and get it done yourself”.
This had immediately woken him up completely and brought him out of his semi-sleep. This made him aware that he was not in his usual environment, so he got up, and he thought for a few seconds, “ I’m not your maid!, he angrily shouted at Xavier’s mum in front of him and walked out looking for a mirror so he could understand who he was, and this was his new reality.
David eventually found the mirror and saw that he had swapped bodies with Xavier. He became confused and wondered what the way forward is. He rushed out of Xavier’s home, heading to his own home. Lucky he met with the helpless woman whom he had encountered the day before. She gave him a wicked smile and made him understand that what he was currently going through was her doing.
David initially got upset and tried to force the woman to undo everything, but he soon realized that his action would yield nothing. So he got down on his knees and begged genuinely. The helpless woman explained that he has to either live Xavier's life for 3 days or genuinely help 3 times daily for 3 days.
David tried helping 3 times daily for 3 days, but he always failed on day 1. He decided to live Xavier’s life, and this in turn had help him learn how to help others. After 3 days, everything went back to normal, and David was always grateful for the life he had.
We all know what the moral lesson here was, but did you ever wonder and consider how Xavier’s life was in David’s body for the 3 days and whether he would have remained the same or worse afterwards? Guess we can only imagine.
