Good morning my people and fellow #education and French lovers. I hope it has been a great week for us so far, if no just hang on tight it will be the weekend soon and then you can get enough rest as you'd like. Welcome to today's today's lesson and i hope you enjoy reading it and also understand easily, tho it is a very easy one.
Today’s word is DEMAIN and it simply means tomorrow. Very easy right? it is pronounced as: (duh meh)
Obviously it is such a small word but very powerful... you see tomorrow carries hope, tomorrow carries delay, tomorrow carries promise and in French you can say (je le ferai demain) meaning I will do it tomorrow or you can say (on se voit demain) meaning see you tomorrow or just (à demain) and that’s it simple and smooth no drama.
But here is the interesting part. when someone keeps saying demain every time it slowly starts to sound like procrastination, in such context tomorrow becomes a soft excuse or a polite way of saying not now and that’s how language works... one small word but different weight or meaning depending on tone and pronunciation.
The prononciation od DEMAIN is soft not (dee main) but more like (duh-meh), it sounds very gentle and flowing.
Now think about it how many things in your life are waiting for demain, they could be goals, plans ,conversations and decisions.
Sometimes tomorrow is hope, sometimes tomorrow could be fear dressed nicely so learn the word and use it properly but don’t hide behind it à demain.
