Los fanáticos de Game Of Thrones después de aquella fatídica temporada final nos quedamos con un sabor amargo porque la historia no terminó de la manera más sólida como podría haber culminado a pesar de haber sido una de las mejores series de siempre. Cuando se estrenó House of the Dragon las expectativas eran muy altas pero en lo personal dicha serie no ha cumplido del todo aún por lo que con la llegada de esta nueva entrega las dudas estaban muy altas. Afortunadamente A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms ha sido una bocanada de aire fresco haciéndonos recordar los orígenes de GOT: sin magia, sin efectos visuales nI CGI, solo puro corazón y humanidad.
Game of Thrones fans were left with a bitter taste after that fateful final season because the story didn't end in the most satisfying way it could have, despite being one of the best series of all time. When House of the Dragon premiered, expectations were very high, but personally, I haven't quite lived up to them yet, so with the arrival of this new installment, doubts were running high. Fortunately, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been a breath of fresh air, reminding us of the origins of GOT: no magic, no visual effects or CGI, just pure heart and humanity.
Esta serie se ubica unos 100 años atrás de los sucesos de GOT y unos 70 años después de lo que ocurre en HOTD, es decir, está justamente en el medio. Se centra en Sir Duncan el Alto, un caballero que no es nada parecido al resto ya que es un tipo humilde, honesto y con una calidez humana difícil de encontrar en aquellos tiempos. Junto a él tenemos a Egg, un pequeño escudero que no es quien dice ser. La trama se basa en que Dunk busca demostrar su valía, busca demostrar que él puede ser un caballero digno, de honor y valiente y para eso tendrá que participar y ganar un torneo contra otros caballeros.
This series is set approximately 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones and 70 years after those of Heroes of the Dead, placing it squarely in between. It centers on Sir Duncan the Tall, a knight unlike any other, as he is humble, honest, and possesses a warmth rarely found in those times. Alongside him is Egg, a small squire who is not who he claims to be. The plot revolves around Dunk's quest to prove his worth, to demonstrate that he can be a worthy, honorable, and courageous knight, and to do so, he must participate in and win a tournament against other knights.

En esta época todavía los Targaryen mantienen el trono de Hierro por lo que en esta serie también ellos serán protagonistas. Ya les digo que no hay dragones porque mueren en HOTD así que no esperen a ninguna de esas bestias volando por los cielos. Entrando en lo que es la serie como tal pues hay que decir que es una barbaridad absoluta, es verdad que comienza tímida, con bajo ritmo pero poco a poco va agarrando color y forma hasta llegar a los capítulos 4 y 5 que son unos de los mejores puntuados de todo este universo (las tres series). Y es que es increíble que esta historia sin nada extraordinario visualmente haya sido capaz de llegar a lo más alto y todo gracias a ser clásico, rústico y natural.
In this era, the Targaryens still hold the Iron Throne, so they will also be protagonists in this series. I should mention there are no dragons because they die in Heroes of the Dragon, so don't expect any of those beasts soaring through the skies. As for the series itself, it's absolutely phenomenal. It's true that it starts off tentatively, with a slow pace, but little by little it gains momentum and shape, culminating in episodes 4 and 5, which are among the highest-rated in the entire universe (across all three series). It's incredible that this story, without anything visually extraordinary, has managed to reach such heights, all thanks to its classic, rustic, and natural style.
Porque si, como ya les dije no hay nada de grandes efectos pero si hay una gran carga emocional en los personajes, tienen mucha personalidad, algunos son entrañables, para bien o para mal; y esto amigos, algo tan sencillo como lograr estas cosas son suficiente para que esta serie sea de lo mejor que va tener este 2026. Tenemos drama, tristeza, melancolía y mucho corazón. Sir Duncan es un muy buen personaje del que en GOT se habló varias veces, hay referencias en algunos capítulos lo que hace un hombre importante en toda esta historia de cientos de años. Creo que esto último fue otra de las cosas que hizo que llamara tanto la atención de la gente, las conexiones evidentes que hay con GOT, cosa que no pasa tanto con HOTD.
Because, as I already mentioned, there aren't any big special effects, but there is a great deal of emotional depth in the characters. They have a lot of personality, some are endearing, for better or for worse; and this, my friends, something as simple as achieving these things is enough to make this series one of the best things to come in 2026. We have drama, sadness, melancholy, and a lot of heart. Sir Duncan is a very good character who was mentioned several times in Game of Thrones; there are references in some episodes to what an important man does in this whole story spanning hundreds of years. I think this last point was another thing that made it so appealing to people, the obvious connections with Game of Thrones, something that doesn't happen as much with HotD.

La química que hay entre Sir Duncan y Egg a nivel de actuación es brutal y esto pasa básicamente porque ambos son muy buenos interpretando su rol, el acting de Dexter Sol Ansell, el niño escudero es impresionante, cuidado si no es el mejor personaje de la serie. La parte cumbre de la serie es top, el nivel de angustia y suspenso que se vive es máximo, me recordó a los buenos episodios de GOT en donde uno estaba pegado a la pantalla porque sabíamos que algo iba a pasar. Al final pasan cosas que terminan siendo importantes para la profundidad de la serie y le dan más impacto emocional a la serie. Recomiendo mucho esto, le doy un 9/10, revivió el universo de GOT. The chemistry between Sir Duncan and Egg is phenomenal, and this is largely because they're both so good at their roles. Dexter Sol Ansell's acting as the boy squire is impressive; he might just be the best character in the series. The climax of the series is top-notch, with an incredibly high level of tension and suspense. It reminded me of the best Game of Thrones episodes, where you were glued to the screen because you knew something was about to happen. In the end, events unfold that are crucial to the series' depth and add even more emotional impact. I highly recommend it; I give it a 9/10. It revived the Game of Thrones universe.
