One of the popular topic for discussion in our presently society is in the aspect of marriage. First of all, we need to establish the fact that marriage is actually a holy union that was created by God. It was built on love, on faithfulness, on respect and even also on commitment.
But one of the things I have actually come to discover about the painful reality of it is the fact that what happens after the death of your partner in marriage. What is the next step of action to taken when your husband or your wife dies?
Every surviving partner weather it is the husband or the wife actually faces deep sorrow and many questions that runs through their mind. The popular question in the heart of many is whether God wants us to marry again after the death of our partner or not. But thank God, the bible gives us the truth we need which I will be talking about.
First of all, the bible teaches that Marriage is binding when both the husband and the wife is alive. In Romans 7:2, it says, “For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth.
Marriage covenants for me remains only when both are living. But when one partner die, the bond ends. What I mean is the fact that death releases the surviving spouse from that marital obligation.
In 1 Corinthians 7:39, Apostle Paul clearly said, “The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. Can you see that even the bible point out to the fact that there is nothing wrong in remarriage.
Remarriage is actually allowed but it must be done with the wisdom of God and the fear of God. Not only that, the surviving partner must make sure that if he or she is remarry, she or he is getting married to someone who follows the Lord.
