Happy Monday Hivers!!
TL’s resort is located in Matalom,Leyte which is approximately a 30-minute ride from our home. There are no buses that pass through this route, only vans. However, my mother does not like riding vans because they tend to drive too fast, which makes her feel nervous. Because of that, we decided to take a “cutting trip” instead. When we arrived in Bato, which was the last stop of the bus we rode from our place, we simply took a tricycle going to Matalom since it was already nearby.
We discovered this place through a vlogger who featured it in one of his videos. It was also perfect timing because we were looking for a place to celebrate Mother’s Day. Without a second thought, we decided to have our dinner there.
Since the place was quite far from our home, we decided to go there early so we could also return home early. The last trips for the vans are scheduled quite early, and we wanted to make sure we could still catch a ride on our way back, so we chose to leave earlier instead.
When we entered the resort, my brother became hesitant because we initially thought there was a private event and that the place had been exclusively reserved. However, we later found out that they had simply arranged the setup in a catering-style theme since it was a special day. They were offering a buffet as well.
There was a cozy picture area with a chair and floral decorations in the background. So, I told my mother to sit down so I could take a picture of her.
After taking pictures of her, we decided to explore the area since it was still too early for dinner. This resort has two rooms that are literally situated above the sea. They also have a bridge that connects the land to the rooms.
During our visit, both rooms were already occupied. It really is a beautiful place to stay, especially if you truly love the sea. Just imagine eating outside your room while being surrounded by the ocean, then watching the sunset in the afternoon, it feels so relaxing and peaceful.
We simply enjoyed the moment, taking pictures while the surroundings were still quiet and peaceful. According to the resort staff, we were actually their first customers for the day, aside from those who were already checked in. That’s why when we arrived, the place was still very calm.
It was nice because the area wasn’t crowded at all, it was just me and my mom at that time. It was really enjoyable to just sit and relax there, especially with its beautiful and calming view.
After exploring the area, we went back to the table my brother had chosen for our dinner. We had dinner quite early, around 5 PM. Honestly, I really enjoyed the taste of their food. They served bihon, chicken, pork, lumpia, shrimp, and watermelon.
All I can say is that my eyes were satisfied with the beautiful view, and my stomach was satisfied with the delicious food. Their staff were also very accommodating and approachable. I wasn’t surprised that as night came, more and more customers started to arrive.
It’s the kind of place where people would definitely come back if they’re satisfied with the view, food, and service.
The staff informed us that there would be a live band around 6 PM. We actually wanted to stay longer because it would have been even nicer to enjoy the live music with the beautiful view. However, since our home was still quite far, we decided to head back early instead.
Overall, it was a simple but memorable Mother’s Day celebration, made special by the peaceful view, good food, and quality time with my mom. Even though we had to leave early, the experience was truly worth it, and it’s definitely a place we would love to come back to in the future.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
