Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well, this time I want to show you how to transform the corn husk (also known as malhojo) and an empty oil container into a beautiful vase. I love to do it because besides recycling takes me to my childhood years, when my mom taught me how to do it.

Hola a todos!! Espero estén muy bien, en esta oportunidad quiero mostrarles cómo transformar la concha del maíz (también conocida como malhojo) y un recipiente vacío de aceite en un hermoso florero. Me encanto hacerlo porque aparte de reciclar me lleva a mis años de niñez, cuando mi mama me enseño a hacerlo.

These are the materials we will use..: -Scissors. -Silicone. - Black marker -Sheets of recycled paper -Holes - Corn husk - Pistil of a dried flower (arnica flower) -Oil container -Oil container -Box of toothpaste (optional)

Estos son los materia les que utilizaremos.: -Tijera. -Silicón. - Marcador negro -Hojas de papel reciclada -Abre huecos - Concha del maíz - Pistilo de una flor seca (Flor de árnica) -Recipiente de aceite -Caja de crema dental (opcional)

Step 1. The first thing we will do is the little or in this case the vase. To do this with the marker we make a mark and cut with scissors the oil container a little more than halfway up. Ready this we take the top and level with the scissors if necessary.

Paso 1. Lo primero que haremos es la poca o en este caso el jarrón. Para ello con el marcador hacemos una marca y cortamos con una tijera el recipiente de aceite un poco más arriba de la mitad. Listo esto tomamos la parte de arriba y nivelamos con la tijera si es necesario.

Paso 4 Una vez lista la copa, lo siguiente será hacer los detallitos con lo que la vamos a decorar. Para sacar las tiras que van cubrir los bordes le damos la vuelta al anuncio del aceite. Lo doblamos cuatro veces, marcamos dándole una forma de medio círculo y cortamos.

Step 5 With the hole opener we take out the little circles that we are going to glue to our cup. I chose a toothpaste box because I liked the silver detail of the box, but you can use whatever you have on hand.

Paso 5 Con el abre hueco sacamos los circulitos que le vamos a pegar a nuestra copa. Yo escogí una caja de crema dental porque me gusto el detalle plateado de la caja, pero ustedes pueden utilizar los que tengan a la mano.

Step 7 To finish with the decoration of the cup we will make a bow. To do this we take the corn husk and dry and with silicone we glue the two ends. Then with the fingers we join to make the ribbon, cut a strip to adjust in the center and another for the tail, once it is ready we glue it on the cup.

Paso 7 Para terminar con la decoración de la copa haremos un lazo. Para eso tomamos la hoja de la mazorca de maíz ya seca y con silicón pegamos los dos extremos. Luego con los dedos unimos para hacer el lazo, cortamos una tira para ajustar en el centro y otra para la cola, una vez que esté listo lo pegamos en la copa.

Step 8 Now we proceed to make the flowers. On a sheet of paper we draw some petals and cut them.

Paso 8 Ahora procedemos a hacer las flores. En una hoja de papel dibujamos unos pétalos y los cortamos.

Once the petals are cut on the sheet of paper, we use them as a template to make them on the corn husk and glue them to the pistil of the arnica flower.

Ya con los pétalos cortados en la hoja, los utilizamos como plantilla para hacerlos en la hoja del maíz y los pegamos al pistilo de la flor del árnica.

Step 9 To make the foliage, cut four strips from the corn husk, fold them in half and tear another strip to simulate ears of corn. Once the foliage is ready, we glue it around the flower stalks.

Step 10 Finally we put the arrangement of flowers in the cup, in this case I put a tusa, but you can put some pebbles or whatever you can think of.

Paso 10 Por ultimo metemos el arreglo de flores en la copa, en este caso yo le coloque una tusa, pero pueden colocarle unas piedritas o lo que se les ocurra.
