Absence of God's presence is very risky. The Bible describes it as death. Death is not just the physical one we know where someone seize to exist in this world. That is just a scientific definition of death. The real death is separation from God. That was the death that Adam and Eve brought upon themselves when they disobeyed God.
This is because we are disconnected from God who is the source of our lives, and when this happens we feel it in our spirits. When we begin to feel this way it is best to make amends with God by living the kind of life that He has called us to live. Nothing on earth is worth compromising our relationship with God.
We don't have any cause to feel distant from God if we are living our lives the right way as we ought to. When we do what pleases God He'll remain with us till the end. But when we give into them the same things that God warned us to stay clear from we are distancing ourselves away from God.
