Hi! Bangladesh is a land of rivers. All the rivers flow into the Bay of Bengal. Cox’s Bazar is the longest sea beach in the world. The Bay of Bengal is a great source of natural wealth. A lot of people depend on the sea for earning their livelihood.

A large sea food business runs depending on The Bay of Bengal. Everyday plenty of travellers visit Cox’s Bazar. Almost every visitor tastes the sea foods. There they take food under the open sky beside the sea. The most popular sea food items are octopus fry, tuna fry, rupchada fry, coral fish barbecue, shrimp and crab fry. All these foods are spicy and delicious. The rate of these foods are not so cheap or not so expensive. Those are reasonable for all.

But there are some dishonest food sellers who serve sea foods often cheating on quantity. If you order for a full octopus to fry, they sometimes steal a large portion and replace with other crispy spicy fried foods looks like fried octopus. So if you ever visit here you have to be careful of these food sellers. But all food sellers are not the same. There is another seafood item which is popular world wide and it is exported to many countries also. Dried fish is full of nutrition, vitamins and minerals. The most popular dried fish is loitta fish, rupchada fish, dried shrimp etc. In my country dried fish is called 'Shutki'. Cox's Bazar and Dublar chor are the hometowns of dried fishes.

The food value of sea food is a lot. But those who are Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients must avoid sea foods. As it is salty it gradually damages kidneys of the patients. These dried fishes are available all over Bangladesh. It is also a source of nutrition for the underprivileged. One can't buy even a tiny fish under 100 taka but one can buy dried fish from ten taka to whatever they want. So this sea food is very helpful to fill the demand for nutrition.
