This has been one of the questions I always ask myself; what God really likes. Based on what I have heard in the teachings of MCGI, God is contented when we live with faith, obedience and love. According to the Bible, Hebrews 11: 6, without faith, one cannot please Him, he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him diligently.
This verse makes me remember that I should not only believe that God exists, but I have to trust Him in all aspects of life.
Another method of pleasing God is by obeying him. As we obey His commandments and live by His Word, it demonstrates that we honor Him and therefore appreciate his guidance, 1 Samuel 15: 22 states that it is better to obey than to sacrifice, yea better to heed than the fat of rams. I know that God appreciates our heart that is willing rather than our offerings or prayers. True love and obedience do not derive out of duty.
Love forms the main part of satisfying God. John 14: 15, 15.-- If you love Me, do My commandments. I have observed that God is pleased when we love one other and others, forgive, serve the needy and lead a simple life. It is not doing great things to make a show, but rather providing real care and kindness to the people around us.
I attempt to use these lessons in my day-to-day life. I hope, Lord, I may have more faith, a heart which serves God and love which is His goodness.
It is not all about perfection, but we need to be able to please God by trying our best, being faithful, and willing to honor Him in all our actions. The plain, meek existence of faith, obedience and love does make the heart of God joyful.
God bless his word
Amen
