Greetings!
One thing that we should all prioritize in life is planning and this is because without planning, it will be difficult to succeed in life, no wonder there's a saying that says, “if you fail to plan, then you're already planning to fail.” Which means for us to make success in all our endeavors in life, planning is of great importance.
Having talked about planning, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt before us which is about, “celebrating on a budget.”
To me, the festive period is all about spending and this has always been like that right from the inception of the world and this is because of the celebration that used to characterize the period where people always give out to others, wine and also dine with each others and also in this period, people also tends to take care of their family in such a way that is different from the other months and period of the year which is not a festive period.
However, looking at the economy situation of the country now, one thing that's very important to do as an individual and as a family is to celebrate on a budget and before we can celebrate on a budget, then we must first plan and it's through this that we can beat the hardship in town to celebrate ourselves in this festive period.
One of those ways through which we can plan and act on our budget in this festive period is to have planned ahead of this festive period. For someone like me, I have started rearing my christmas chicken for the past three months and whenever I remember I will be cutting my cost during this festive period on buying chicken, i am happy. So, planning ahead is very important in celebrating on a budget and with this we would not be plunged into debt as an individual and family.
Another way for us to celebrate on a budget is to cut our clothes according to clothes which means, we should not do more than ourselves. To some people, they will always want to impress others in this festive period as if they are in competition with others. Doing this will only lead one to debt and for us not to run into debt, we must take cognizance of our spending in this period and this will help us going forward.
Furthermore, we should make do with what we have. I have seen people taking loans to celebrate Christmas. I'm not saying taking out a loan is not good, but doing so to celebrate Christmas is bad in my own opinion. We should not be pushed or pressured into taking loans to celebrate Christmas, instead we should do with what we have and avoid unnecessary spending and debt as the next year is around the corner where bills will be paid after the celebration.
In conclusion, acting and celebrating our Christmas on budget would go a long way in shaping our next year and also save us from debt and shame.
