Today, October 1st, we pay tribute to people of advanced age, also known as older adults. This commemoration was promoted by the United Nations since 1991 and its purpose is to promote public policies and strategies to encourage and maintain the elderly active in society.
The demographic population has changed and is increasing, so much so that it is estimated that by 2050 there will be more older adults than children. Each year this celebration has a theme, last year 2021 was Digital Equity for all ages, this year 2022 is Resilience and the contributions of older women.
Older women in my home
At home we are all seniors, the youngest is me and I pass the fourth decade, as seniors there is my mom with 63 and my grandmother with 91, resilient women who have always been active to serve and live in the best way, my grandmother is as active as a 4 year old girl with character, she does not like to be given the food in her mouth and does it alone most of the time, but sometimes she starts playing to put her hands in the plate and to throw all the food so you have to give it in her mouth when she lets herself.
One day I started to observe this dynamic and I wanted to take some pictures to keep them as a treasure, when some of us are no longer in this plane, looking at them filled me with emotions, how much love, patience, and beauty I could contemplate. Thankful to God for having them in my life.
If you are a person of advanced age do not be afraid to face your destiny, old age is a stage like the previous ones, you have to love it with dignity and joy because who lives in this way takes better experiences, also remember that inside we have a child that we just have to wake up.
Amor y respeto por las personas mayores
Hoy 01 de octubre se rinde homenaje a las personas con edad avanzada, también conocidos como adultos mayores. Esta conmemoración fue promovida por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas desde el año 1991 y su propósito es promover políticas y estrategias públicas para incentivar y mantener activas a las personas de tercera edad dentro de la sociedad.
La población demográfica ha cambiado y va en aumento, tanto que se estima que para el 2050 habrá más adultos mayores que niños. Cada año esta celebración, tiene un lema, el año pasado 2021 fue Equidad digital para todas las edades, este año 2022 es La Resiliencia y las contribuciones de las mujeres mayores.
Mujeres mayores en mi hogar
En casa todos somos mayores de edad, la más joven soy yo y paso de la cuarta década, de tercera edad está mi mamá con 63 y mi abuela con 91, mujeres resilientes que siempre han estado activas para servir y vivir de la mejor forma, mi abuela es tan activa como una niña de 4 años con carácter, no le gusta que le den la comida en la boca y lo hace sola la mayoría del tiempo, pero a veces se pone a jugar a meter las manos en el plato y a botar toda la comida por lo que hay que dársela en la boca cuando ella se deja.
Un día me puse a observar esta dinámica y quise tomar algunas fotos para guardarlas como un tesoro, cuando ya algunas de nosotras no este en este plano, mirarlas me lleno de emociones, cuanto amor, paciencia, y belleza podía contemplar. Agradecida con Dios por tenerlas en mi vida.
Si eres una persona de edad avanzada no temas a enfrentar tu destino, la vejez es una etapa como las anteriores, hay que amarla con dignidad y alegría porque quien vive de esta forma se lleva mejores vivencia, además recuerda que adentro tenemos un niño que solo hay que despertar.
