Is campus life overrated?
The reality of school. I must say that anyone who doesn't imagine life in school before getting there must have resurrected from a world not far from ours. The truth is, before going to school, there are a lot of mixed feelings—the good, the bad, and the ugly, all in one. For me one of the things I imagined the most is my freedom, as the last daughter of the family that I am, there are a lot of things I have suffered from my siblings, things like house chores, running errands, cooking, and many more, and one funny thing about one of the things I think about school is I get to eat only what I want and not just what is available 🤣🤣🤣.
But the reality of school hit me differently; yes, there was freedom that I wanted, but the inconvenience was even more than the freedom. When I talk about inconvenience, I mean the weekends lectures or unexpected tests/lectures and again the water scarcity. In my father's house, we have tap water, which we enjoyed 24/7, but in school I have to walk a little distance to get water that is not even clear enough for drinking and i even have to carry it on my head something I don't do at home.
And then I also imagine having money in my account; I could buy new clothes, make my hair, and do other things, but guess what? The money wasn't even enough for school runs, let alone getting new clothes or something. I actually made new friends, but I didn't do much fun stuff. The only fun thing I did was sports; I enjoyed that sha.
I won't lie. The reality in school is far different from what we heard or saw in movies, but then every move and activity in school is a lesson. It was stressful, but I'm grateful I passed through. And one last thing about school is, there is a lot of fake life people there, if one is not careful, he or she might destroy his or she's life. Thank you for stopping by. See you next time.
