Former Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, who was accused of abandoning his duties by not appointing a candidate for a constitutional judge recommended by the National Assembly during his first formal trial, insisted on the dismissal of the prosecution.
Former Prime Minister Han, who was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rebellion charges, attended the first trial of the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Agreement Department 33 this afternoon with a name tag with an acceptance number of 90.
Former Prime Minister Han's lawyer asked for the dismissal of the indictment, saying that former Prime Minister Han's allegations were not subject to investigation by the special prosecution team.
He also argued that nominating a constitutional judge is an act that requires a high degree of political determination as an acting president and cannot be subject to judicial review.
Former chief of staff Jeong Jin-seok and former senior presidential secretary for civil affairs Kim Joo-hyun, who were indicted on charges of failing to properly verify personnel when Lee Wan-kyu, a close aide to former President Yoon Suk Yeol, was nominated for the Constitutional Court, also insisted on dismissing the prosecution, saying it was not subject to the special prosecution.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok, who was indicted on charges of perjury, asked for the case to be redistributed separately, saying, "It is questionable why the defendant was indicted together," but the court did not accept it.
The court plans to designate the next trial date as the 20th and continue the examination of witnesses.

The act of benefiting from political gain through dereliction of duty has been dismissed.
It's a point that should be supplemented by law, or it's intentional dismissal by a judge,
In any case, it seems that the law will have to be supplemented.
