If you are not awere curently there is ongoing situation regarding a hack of close to 300M that happened on a bridge of the LayerZero protocol, managed by KelpDAO.
More than 100k Ethereum was stolen in the hack, in a form of a staked ETH with the ticker rsETH, and the hacker used protocols like AAVE, Compound and others to cash out of the rsETH token to ETH and get liqudity. This left AAVE with a bad debt, or a loss, and the AAVE protocol froze all the WETH pools. This partial freeze cased a panic, and other users who are in other pools started exiting the protocol, and that value is now close to 10B in just two days. The TVL droped from 26B to 17B now. This is quite the bank ran.
There has been very little comunication in all this from the AAAVE team, and obviously users are nervous. AAVE has been a highly regarded DeFi protocol with the highest TVL in the industry. Will see how will they come up from this.
