In the most recent addition of "Only in Tennessee" a man accidentally set his home on fire yesterday while attempting to thaw out frozen pipes.
Nashville News stations have been covering the story in great detail, because we are apparently happy to share how ridiculous some of our neighbors can be, and a man lighting his house on fire while trying to thaw out pipes is amusing. Especially when you imagine the image of him doing it with a Blowtorch.
Yep. It has been really cold here in Tennessee lately, something we don't get a ton of. But it does get below freezing some every winter. So why a man decided to combat the cold with a blowtorch is anyone's guess. What we know is that once he started heating up his pipes, he manages to catch the drywall on fire, which in turn caught the insulation behind it.
That's right.... Drywall... He wasn't working with a blowtorch on exterior pipes. He was in the house, working with a blowtorch.
Fortunately we can consider this story to be funny because no one was injured. There also wasn't a ton of damage. So we can all sit back and laugh because this didn't happen.

Sometimes it is great to live in the South.... This guy was just a death away from winning this year's Darwin award.
