I've done a bit of work on the bot to address an issue that was fairly crucial. I've already published said changes to the SteemFlagRewards production github if you'd like to take a look. Link.
What was the problem?
We've had a recent influx of low SP abuse fighters which our bot has been upvoting but many of these comments have ended up below the minimum payout threshold. This is bad for a couple of reasons.
- No curation rewards which can be utilized to fight more abuse.
- No author rewards which can be utilized to empower abuse fighters.
It was a lose:lose situation which needed to be fixed real quick in a hurry and that is just what I did. The bot will not upvote flags that do not exceed the 0.0245 SBD value per Beem's rshares_to_sbd function of the Steem class. Before my fellow minnows, redfish and plankton go grab your pitchforks, I want you to consider one thing. You will still receive the flagger post beneficiary rewards. As a matter of fact, I am considering boosting the weight of lower SP abuse fighters on these so now yall have a reason to keep me around. 😛
But on a serious note, if anybody want so help reward the brave low SP abuse fighters, upvoting those posts is a good way to do and soon to be even better. Will keep yall up to date.
In other news, I talk about a sly bid bot abuser names . He thinks he's pretty slick going to his 3 month old posts, replying to himself, and boosting them mediocre comments inordinately.
Not on my watch.
That's pretty much it for now. I'm tired and need a drink.
Thanks for listening to my wearied rant. See ya next time!
