I about fell out of my chair this morning when I saw this.
It's my first downvote! On this post which is 2 months old and well past the rewards payout.
As asked myself, "Who is this?" and the blockchain had some insights.
Ok, a brand new account. Let's take a closer look.
Uh, I'm getting uncomfortable now. Would you call that a threat?
So, there are no posts or comments yet, but plenty of votes. Downvotes, that is.
I maintain a copy of the entire blockchain in a local database thanks to SBDS and so I wrote a few queries and found 199 downvotes across 98 accounts. Of which 71 accounts only had 1 downvote while 27 got as many as 17 downvotes.
I was curious to see if it was focusing on any particular tags and here's a few of the top tags.
| tag | COUNT |
|---|---|
| life | 74 |
| art | 67 |
| steemit | 65 |
| photography | 57 |
| blog | 54 |
| steem | 52 |
| cryptocurrency | 40 |
This matches the default tags listed at Steemit almost exactly!
Since my post was 2 months old, I looked to see the age of the other posts that were downvoted. Because an edited comment appears as multiple records my query was giving me duplicates and I didn't have time to troubleshoot but the general pattern is that about 33% of the downvotes were on posts past payout. I can't
And then there's this.
And that's only a sampling of all the accounts he's ignoring.
It seems like this account is downvoting for the sake of downvoting. Fortunately, it has only the initial 15 SP delegation so it's all dust, but it's still sad to see nonsense like this happening.
