Lately, a lot of flagging has been going on and if you didn't receive any, consider yourself lucky.
I have never been flagged before because I have never stolen any article from the internet.
So I felt insulted when I saw the flags on an innocent poor girl....🙈🙈
I wanted to know what I did wrong and so I checked up all the accounts which gave me a flag and realized that none of them has started blogging yet.
I think a rule should be implemented that you must attain a certain height on Steemit before you'd be able to flag anyone
Maybe, attain a certain reputation, have some certain SP(not delegated) and must have made a certain number of posts.
At least, if you are a flag bot or whatever, there should be a genuine reason why you were created to flag people.
I was so curious to find out what happened and asked people if they got flagged too and of course, many were affected too.
So Why Did You Get Flagged?
According to what I learned, a guy who got vexed with Steemit went ahead to open several accounts and without blogging, started flagging innocent Steemians randomly.
What Is Your Offense?
Well, from what I know, you did nothing wrong to deserve those flags. They are just random flags carried out by some random angry asshole. Do not fret, you haven't defaulted. Well, except of course you know you did something wrong.
What Can You Do?
If your reputation is higher than those accounts flagging you, you pretty much wouldn't be affected. But for a new user still with a reputation of 25, you could very much be affected.
If you see a Steemian whose post was flagged and it had a negative impact on them, you could help by giving an upvote.
Or refer them to https://discord.gg/KDPBNC4 to have the flag removed if not found guilty.
As at the time of writing this post, most of the accounts who flagged people have been undelegated of their SP.
You can also report new flaggers on the discord channel.

Cheers.
