The visit was in the framework of friendship and motivate santri dayah is to continue the study to the United States.
In front of the students of Dayah Inshafuddin, Joseph Donovan motivated them to continue their studies in America by utilizing a number of educational programs and exchanges provided by the United States Government.
For high school students, he explained that there is a YES program (Youth Exchange and Study), which is an exchange of Indonesian students to attend school for a year in America.
By exchanging cultures, because there are also students from other countries. For a year they will live with the United States family.
"Currently there are 85 high school students participating in the YES program," he said.
While for youth level there are also various programs of Yong Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), which can be used by young people aged 18-35 years from Indonesia.
And a number of scholarship programs to continue studies to several universities in the United States. He hopes the beneficiaries of the US government program can be a leader in the future.
While Deputy Mayor of Banda Aceh, Zainal Arifin who participated in the visit said the visit of the US Ambassador was indeed no cooperation agenda or binding any commitments.
