Currently, August 15, 2017, 12 years already, Aceh is represented by GAM to support peace with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, in Helsinki, Finland, August 15, 2005.
The war really stopped. After 32 years since 1976.
What we have seen from 2005 until now is the people of Aceh trying to implement the peace agreement. At that time also the Indonesian side.
However, only part of the Helsinki MoU can be run, the rest still trying to walk, because it does not care about government officials in Indonesia Jakarta, and because of confusion from the Acehnese side.
They can not fight any more, but are confused, what is peace? War for what
Maybe future generations of Aceh can answer it. Or, they know nothing at all, like a new generation is emerging today.
