This last weekend I attended AcroLove festival in San Diego. This AcroYoga/Partner Acrobatic festival is held at the same place every New Years Eve weekend. AcroYoga enthusiasts from all over the United States come out for this awesome event. Different acrobatic classes, different styles of acrobatics, and skills were taught each day. What I appreciate about this festival is that there are all level classes taught, beginner - advanced. This makes for a very welcoming festival for people just starting off with AcroYoga to the highly skilled acrobats that train everyday.
One of the classes I always look forward to is the Advanced Hand to Hand class. This class was taught by two high level acrobatics. They shared different drills and techniques to refine and improve your hand to hand practice.
I got to do the class with my little acro buddy, Lauren. I always love seeing her at the different acroyoga festivals. She is little, strong, and full of fun energy.
This is "standing hand to hand". We were drilling the transition into one arm.
This skill is called "liberty". This is a great skills for the base and flyer, there is so much balance and strenght going into this skill. I actually haven't drilled this skill much, it was so much fun practicing it with Lauren.
This skill is called "reverse hand to hand". The enterence into this hand stand is very dynamic and takes a lot of calibration with your partner.
We had to practice a few times before we could stick it!
This class was one of my favorites. It had two of my favorite instuctors and I love training these high level skills.
Thanks for checking out my post.
I hope you enjoyed my pictures and gifs.
