A Friday in the Present.
But lots of kids went walking for their, our, the planet's future. At least that's the catchphrase: #FridaysForFuture
So, I actually wasn't part of the movement. Although I am glad to see the kids skip school for a commendable reason, to demonstrate their credible cause, of getting politricks to focus on a more sustainable future.
But, I guess I am a bit too cynical to believe this whole thing is more than just a welcome popular movement to make the introduction of more carbon taxation palatable for the electorate.
There was a bunch of coppers, but totally low key and no anti-riot gear in sight. Well, the demonstration was mostly kids anyway, and even though they were chanting the infamous "anti-anti-anticapitalista" slogans, I guess there wasn't much escalation to be expected.
What was I doing there? Well, I was actually just meeting a dear old friend who was coming through town at the trainstation. I wasn't even aware the demonstration was going down until I arrived to meet him.
I've collected my "activity" today mostly walkin around chatting to my friend and discussing his business adventures. I'm not a fan, but I tried to give constructive feedback where possible. It was actually quite exhausting.
Now it's time to sit back and unwind.
Thanks for your time!
