My cousin, who is going to get married in a couple of weeks, asked me if I could check out wedding rings for her and her fiance. I promised to check it out for her tonight and so we did.
Ramadan Timings
One of the things we really need to consider these days. Iftar, or the breaking of fast for the Muslims is sometime around 7.00pm. We went out at around 6pm though I have doubts that shops may be closed.
And yes, the Gold Souk was closed until 8.00pm!
Trying to kill time, we walked around the Madinat Zayed Shopping Centre which is next to the Gold Souk (Souk = "market"). This is one of the oldest shopping centres here in Abu Dhabi.
Most of the shops were also closed.
Few rounds at the department store and we realized it was already 8pm and we spent quite a sum of money already. We started walking back to the Gold Souk.
The Ring
8pm means it was midnight in Philippines and surely my cousin is already asleep. I sent her some pictures of the wedding rings for sale along with the price.
The one I tried on is AED 750 ($203) a pair only. I honestly think that was already a good deal. But I need to waid for my cousin's response and their sizes.
We have 2 weeks left before we come home so we have time.
Silverporn
I learned about collecting silver coins through steemit. I thought it was cool. I even got the 2017 and 2018 #steemsilverround last year.
While there already at the Gold Souk, I asked where I could find silver coins and they pointed me to one shop.
They have coins but I did not like the design. Then they showed me a 50 grams the bar which costs AED 190 ($50). NOT BAD, EH?
How about these?
Whooops, not now. Haha
Oh goodness! I am too sleepy I see myself typing in Filipino as I am dozing off. 😴
Hey I really need to sleep.
Until next time!
