My Actifit Report Card: March 28 2019. Noisy Dodge Ram truck.

This one's for Hive account@enginewitty. Today I was stuck in the fender of a RAM 1500 pick-up truck with a 5.7L Hemi engine. The customer concern was an exhaust noise near the engine, the culprit:2 broken bolts that hold the exhaust manifold on.

With the manifold off you can now see one bolt sticking out(easy enough to grab onto and spin out), and the other bolt broken flush with the head-oh no!

No problem for an experienced tech, just weld a nut on and turn it out like any old bolt. Easy peasy lemon squeasy 👨‍🔧

Now reassemble with a new gasket and hardware and it's as good as new.
