Yesterday was exhausting. My phone battery was low and we were out of service so I did not run my actifit app until home. We left Art’s house at 9:30 and went to where my truck laid. AAA sent out a wrecker from Colville and we met him as he got there at 10:30. It took an hour for him to get my truck hooked up as he had to change a flat tire for a good one and disconnect the drive line. Plus being 15 miles up a dirt road in the mountains meant a slow drive down.
We left and went to Zips in Colville as neither of us had eaten since the prior day and were famished. I filled his tank with gas in Chewelah, then we made it to my place by 1:30. We had just finished unloading my stuff from his truck and the tow truck was arriving. He dropped my truck here in the yard.
got off work and after a little bit of dropping stuff and getting the kids gathered we went out to the airport to pick up a rental car for me to use for a while. Most likely I will have it until the 15th or 16th when I go to pick up a car in California. It is one that used to be ours but then we gave to my parents who are now giving it back to us. I will have a ride and time to decide what to do about a truck.
One good thing from the weekend adventure is that I came home with maple logs that I am going to be able to install plugs in and keep inside over winter so I can try out a bunch of types of fungus. also when I go to California I will be able to get some oak logs and eucalyptus as well. This will give me a solid number of logs to test out the available varieties.
My body is still sore and the bruise on my leg is gone but the one on my shoulder is still pretty gnarly. Today I am nice and deep in ibuprofen and at least not in serious pain. The aches will subside.
Today has been lazy as I am resting my sore body and researching possibilities. I am awaiting UPS and my new gate opener.
I will say my recent discovery of stoicism has helped this process proceed more smoothly. At least mentaly it feels so.
