More recouperation for the body yesterday. I was able to get the images taken and submitted to insurance and got calls regarding the process. The truck will be picked up most likely Friday and taken to a yard where the adjuster will appraise it and determine if it is in fact totaled. At least I have a vehicle lined up and a rental until then so I am not super anxious to finish the process, it will take as long as it has to.
I ordered 7 different strains of mushrooms. I have the stack of maple and fir logs which will be ready for plugs after the 19th and I will be getting some oak logs while in California which will have a 2 week waiting period before plugging. These 3 wood varieties will allow me to test all 7 varieties of fungus out over winter. Since it takes 6 to 12 months for the mycelium to fully inhabit the logs I want to have some going over winter so by spring I may be able to force a light flush on some logs.
In the evening I took my oldest J to his cub scout meeting which was the monthly awards meeting. He earned his Bobcat badge and his Fun on the Run belt loop. He has another that he has earned but will get next time. Also the scouts get little pins at each rank that they can give to their parent(s) on a small felt ribbon that they can display. J gave it to this morning. I am likely going to be the den leader for the Lions, which I was half way expecting to at least be an assistant, but it won’t be that rough with only a handful of kids. The tasks are pretty easy and mostly playing so meeting ideas won’t be hard to come up with.
Today is my youngest R’s 3rd birthday. J is at school most of the day so I am sure R will be enjoying a certain amount of cartoons today.
