Another long day. The new store manager doesn't know what he's doing with scheduling, so we had 4 people all day, in a store that should have 8-9 people. If we're slow we can run comfortably with 7.
They're trying to "cut labor hours". And in doing so we are breaking our bodies for them. This is the second day in a row running with 4. For an hour yesterday we were at only 3.
If it happens again tomorrow I will not bother putting effort into it. Why break myself for them when I have a whole life to live outside of that hell hole?
I spent 7 of my 8 hours in 4°F (-15.5556° C). My fingers were numb and nobody would switch positions with me.
I was the only one in the store capable of handling that position while still helping others because of how short staffed we were, especially because I am the most cold tolerant. I refuse to do it again. It isn't worth it.
If we have labor at a certain number, and if we keep our times under a certain number and if we have waste product below a certain number, management gets a bonus at the end of each period. If all numbers are met that bonus can hit $3,000.
Us lowly workers, the ones breaking our bodies to hit those numbers, we get nothing.
At any rate, cold is fucking exhausting. My feet hurt like they've been run over by a truck. I haven't even washed the kid's lunch boxes yet. I'll just have to rush in the morning. Too tired.
Goodnight, #steemit.
