Over 16,000 steps today.
After work I met with some people interested in meeting Rigby with the intention of offering him a home if things went well.
And things did indeed go well!
I screened them, they have an allergy onto cats, so I never have to worry they'll ever spontaneously decide to add a cat to the family. They have no other dogs and one, older child, I believe he is 12.
I told them all of his quirks and warned them about his behavior toward other dogs. His aggression and dominance seeking.
Their boy walked Rig the majority of our hour together and toward the end a small dog walked by. So they were able to see the ridiculousness that is Rigby in action.
They took it in stride. Her reaction was "We'll get him into classes to continue working on socializing him. We can't walk away from such a sweet dog!"
Rig played his part perfect. He hammed it up, sitting on their feet and leaning in for snuggles and pets, giving kisses and rolling adorably in the grass.
They fell in love with the little goofball. They have a busy weekend, but plan on picking him up on Sunday!
I'm happy for everyone involved. Happy for my cats, their lives will go back to normal, but mostly happy for Rigby. He's going to get a great forever family, they're going to take him camping a lot this summer. They have a lake house to throw him balls off the dock at.
They're going to teach him to Kayak. 😀
He's going to have a great life. Congrats, Rig. All that hard work the past month has paid off. 💚💚💚
Have a goodnight Steemit.
