Just another night at work. Actually got out on time, for a change.
I'll turn this post into a proper sportstalk post..
The Ashes started last night. All the talk in the lead up is over, and finally it's game on. Australia chose to bat first, and were pretty shaky at the crease. Steve Smith, as usual, shone for the tourists and managed to put together some partnerships with the lower order batsmen to guide the Aussies to a respectable total.
England have a weakened attack for the rest of this test, with Anderson suffering a recurrence of the injury that had him in doubt for the test. The next session will give us a guide to how this test may pan out. If England can dig in and set up a decent total, then its game on. If Australia's bowling attack can come out firing, the test is there for the taking.
Thanks for reading and have a great day everyone.
John.
