16K on a WILDE day! 😃
I just spent an hour with Kim Wilde. I had taken a long walk earlier, and that got me a good amount of my activity for today. But then I was listening to my random playlist like usual, and the song "Kids in America" came on. The playlist I was listening to was a YouTube playlist and I remember that the video for this song is worth seeing. I had been dancing around to songs before this one and not really watching the screen. But when Kim Wilde came on, and the camera person zoomed in on her face, I just had to sit down and watch, again and again!
After watching the video about 10 times, I searched for more about Kim and it seems that she was about 20 when this song came out in 1980. Actually it was recorded in 1980 but not released until 1981 and it became quite a big hit worldwide.

It's a very up-tempo new wave dance song! Watching Kim as she sings, it occurs to me that she is kind of Julie from Valley Girls, David Bowie, Taylor Swift, and Yang from RWBY all rolled into one.
I can't quite tell if she's shy or scared or pouting or secretly laughing to herself inside. But she looks great and I enjoyed watching her over and over in this video!
