Generally a productive day, though more in a few short very productive bursts than in a great long thing.
Did some work on a story/novel/something, did some writing for a freelance thing, and also did a lot of classwork. Generally a good day all-round in that regard.
I also finished the core storyline of Borderlands 3. I have to say that if nothing else there’s an impressive amount of work that went into the game; it’s technically very impressive in terms of the graphics but also some of the ways that they just do things that you don’t expect. I’m sure that a lot of the things that look really difficult for technical reasons are accomplished through simple hacks, but I’m not complaining.
I’ve been working on some ideas for my Degenesis campaign and I think I’ve come up with something that’s fair to the players but also carries the spirit of the universe forward. It’s also true to the story as I first envisioned it, which isn’t necessarily something that matters (after all, it’s about player experience first and foremost), but helps deal with potential plot-holes.
I’m something of a method actor when it comes to writing for campaigns; I’ll jump into a character’s point of view for a while and figure out what they think of a situation. A lot of those focal characters are no longer around (rest in pieces), but they’re still being honored in this framework. Plus, even though the storyline’s probably harder on the player characters than my original outline, it’s probably a storyline that results in a better world to live in.
