Luckily, after a solid 12 hours of sleep, I felt better this morning and we carried on with our plans.
We had booked a backcountry tour at Monument Valley located on the Navajo Nation partly in Arizona, partly in Utah. Departure time was 1 pm. It said pretty clearly that if you aren’t there on time, the tour will leave and no chance for a reschedule or refund.
GPS told us that it was going to take 2.5 hours to get to Monument Valley. Sometimes, those estimates are a bit optimistic and I really didn’t want to feel worried about getting there.
We left at 9 am and had a beautiful drive with plenty of time to stop at a roadside stand to buy some craft items (hopefully, they aren’t made in China 😱)
This is the kind of truck we had our tour on. Our guide was Joe Nelson and he was fantastic!! Tomorrow, we are planning a shorter day and I hope I will get to some more writing. Now, I have to set up the prompt, do some voting - and most urgently - go to bed 😴
More tomorrow.
