Today I went for drinks with the biosecurity group of the London Effective Altruism network. Effective Altruism (EA) is all about trying to find the best possible way we can use our time and money to help make the world a better place.
EA has a number of causes that they try and guide talented people towards. One of them is how to organise society today so as to avoid catastrophe when the next pandemic emerges. I was there to talk about public trust in health care. Good times (I'll likely blog more on this topic when I've free time again).
It was the other side of London hence the 30000+ steps today. It did mean that I got to see a sight like this though.
