What seemed like a fairly lazy day with long interludes in two coffee shops ended up with a decent step count in large part because of 40 minutes of walking laps at the rec center and a walk down to the lake with my wife and our 95 pound puppy.
I’ve been starting to see some discussions here proposing that, in a future Hard Fork, Steem might no longer go into the reward pool and rewards would instead be in the form of a Smart Media Tokens. I haven’t seen anyone propose a name for such a token. I’ll throw out SteemitCoin. The scuttlebutt I’ve seen would be that STEEM would become a utility token. Steem’s inflation rate could be cut dramatically. I’m guessing that some new Steem would still be dispersed but maybe just to witnesses, the DAO, and hodlers of SP. But that’s pure speculation on my part. So far at least, I’m ambivalent about such plan. If the SMT used for rewards had a decent exchange rate vis-à-vis the utility token, it might be a wash.
Oh well, just vague discussion so far, but something worth starting to ponder.
