Sunday we moved camp to some public land east of Durango, CO. The area is named after a creek that is supposed to run through the area, but it is dry as a bone.
There is fracking going on in the area and lots of fences with posted signs. When scouting an area to park the camper on the first day, we almost got stuck at a dead end but I managed to pull the camper through.
On Veteran's day we had Denny's for breakfast then did some thrift and grocery shopping while in town. I cooked these steaks on the fire for dinner.
The pine trees were blocking a lot of our solar power at the first site so I did some scouting after Veteran's day and found a sunnier spot up on a hill. We took our first hike today on a nice trail that starts next to our new campsite.
After walking, I gathered some more wood in preparation for chicken tacos cooked over fire. is making salsa right now so we are definitely eating well tonight!
