Happy parkrunday
I love saturdays when I don’t have to work as I always go to parkrun, even if I’m away for the weekend I try and go. This week though I went to my local one, Gorleston cliffs parkrun. Sometimes there’s a lot of my family go but this week there was just 3 of us, me, my dad and my youngest son
I think my dad is amazing when it comes to running, he is in his 70’s and still able to run half marathons ( in under 2 hours) and marathons. He is a much better runner than I will ever be!
My son on the other hand is pretty good at 5k’s and 10k’s and is doing his first half marathon with me tomorrow although he hasn’t really put in the training so it won’t be to the best of his ability he will be going out there just to finish. He decided after entering he prefers shorter distances as he likes to get a run over quickly because he gets bored.
So back to today’s parkrun, it was sunny, about 10 degrees Celsius and a strong cold wind coming off the sea. This made half of the run extremely difficult. Thankfully I wasn’t running today to get a good time, it was just to keep my legs moving. I did find it hard though, I’m absolutely dreading tomorrow! For some reason more so than normally before a race. Wish me luck.
Here’s the stats from today’s run.
