"Thunder only happens when it's raining." (Fleetwood Mac) A bad day does not mean a bad life. I focus on that motto on the rough days. My son Ben has autism and ocd. This morning started out fine until something changed. Many times I can point at one thing or another that caused the issue. Other days there is no clear reason. Unfortunately today no reason was evident.
After church, normally he plays a little while and then we walk. Ben froze up. He did not want to walk on the indoor track. However he would not say what he wanted to do. He also could not say what was wrong. Ironically autism's symbol is a puzzle piece. Certainly Ben fit that nightimage today. I kept trying different tactics along with Mom's help. Fortunately she was at the track to walk with us. Eventually we figured out how to get him "back." Step by step, a bad day became a better one. The "Thunder" lessened and so did the rain.
