It was said that the indians didn't recongnised Columbus' ships when they were arriving at the coasts... you know - they haven't seen anything like that before: a sailing ship.
And in the best situation you can vizualise something in your mind and feel it like real, then somewhere in time it just appears in the physical wolrd just before of you!
