I went almost a week without my Fitbit, since it ran out of batteries and I "lost" it in my purse. Finally, I'm all charged up and tracking again.
Though the picture posted is not from today, it is one of my students learning to really put her whole body into the strike, during a recent self-defense workshop we gave.
Today's activities included: teaching three aikido classes: seniors, kids, and teens, walking to the mailbox twice, and stopping by two different stores for supplies.
At Lowe's, they required my ID before they would sell me spray paint. Feeling way too old for that BS, I asked how old do you have to be to buy paint, 50? The cashier was not amused. Apparently I am, in fact, of legal age to buy paint.
It seems that someone has decided it is better to deny perfectly capable minors the right to plan and build their own projects without a guardian, than to risk selling paint to a hoodlum who wants it for huffing, or graffiti. They could not be more wrong.
The more responsibility you give to kids, the more they are able to take on.
